The first thing you need to know is that this is a freakin' BIG book.  It is in very nice condition but it isn't perfect. The jacket has a tiny tear in the back and there are the remnants of an old price tag on the back as well.  Interestingly enough, this book came with TWO jackets (by accident no doubt) so you can take the top one off and have what I believe is a perfect one from underneath. This book is hard to find in this condition.

"Elephants of Africa" by Paul Bosman and Anthony Hall-Martin is a visually stunning tribute to the African elephant, capturing the grandeur and diversity of these majestic creatures across the continent. The book features 24 full-color reproductions of Bosman's exceptional pastel paintings, each depicting elephants in their natural habitats, from the savannahs of Mali to the forests of Gabon. Complementing these artworks are 120 black-and-white and 120 color cameos, along with detailed pencil drawings of elephants and other African wildlife, including the bat-eared fox, impala, buffalo, fish eagle, vervet monkey, sable antelope, and zebra. This rich visual tapestry is accompanied by insightful text from Dr. Anthony Hall-Martin, a renowned conservationist with nearly 50 years of experience dedicated to elephant research and conservation. His expertise provides readers with a deeper understanding of the ecological importance of elephants and the challenges they face in the wild. Published in 1986 by C. Struik, "Elephants of Africa" serves as both an artistic masterpiece and an informative resource, celebrating the beauty and significance of these magnificent animals.
