This mostly good book shows a hint of age but nothing any normal person would care about. It's a good book. Mostly. There is an ancient price tag on the front that I don't want to peel off for fear of damaging the book. You'll just have to live with it. Otherwise it is pretty good.
A practical and compelling guide to successful leadership by the author of "The Tao of Coaching."
Succeeding in business often means being a good leader. We all lead in some capacity—be it a company, sports team, family, or just an outing with friends. At the very least, we lead ourselves. Psychologists emphasize that creating or leading initiatives is crucial for mental health. So, how do we become effective leaders?
The essence of leadership can be boiled down to a simple formula: Vision x Inspiration x Momentum (VIM).
Strong leaders possess the vision to chart a desirable direction for their group, project, or company. They have the interpersonal skills to inspire others to join them and the navigational skills to maintain the necessary momentum. These abilities must be applied both strategically to specific projects and culturally to the broader values and style of the organization.
"The Tools of Leadership" shows you how to achieve these goals using simple tools, tips, and techniques that truly work. Illustrated with cartoons and lively chapters, this succinct guide offers practical lessons through an entertaining story of one man's journey to mastering leadership skills.
This accessible guide is ideal for all leaders of teams, departments, divisions, and corporations, as well as managers aspiring to be true leaders and junior colleagues aiming for management positions.
