Beautiful Child

This is a sort of mildly beat up copy of a very important book.  It is in strong shape and cosmetically it isn't too bad, but the spine, though strong, shows wear.  Nonetheless, it is a mostly good book.

Torey Hayden, a special education teacher and psychologist, writes about her experiences working with children with severe emotional and behavioral issues. In "Beautiful Child," she tells the story of a young girl named Venus who is profoundly withdrawn and non-verbal. Through her compassionate and persistent efforts, Torey attempts to break through Venus's barriers and uncover the trauma that has led to her silence. The book provides an insightful and moving look into the challenges and rewards of working with children who have experienced significant emotional difficulties.
